Cycle Timelines

Options
Hello,

I am interested to know the different types of Cycle Timelines your university follows. Our application opens October 1 - May 31st. Our university has Fall,Spring, and Summer terms. I have ran into where students are not pulling up or matching certain awards when they in fact do qualify. It may be that since it closes May 31st we are not catching students who may raised their GPA etc over the summer. There are many other scenarios where we cannot find the student or they do not match with the opportunity.  What cycle timelines does your university use? Is it effective, or do you run into the same issues?

  • Hi Karina,

We award scholarships for Fall and Spring semesters. It is my understanding from Bb support that our cycle must close in late Fall so that we can open up the new cycle December 1 to collect applications for the next academic year. This leaves us awarding for Spring outside of the Blackbaud software. I export applications into Excel and find students to award using that. Not sure if this is exactly what you are asking, but it would be great to have two cycles open at the same time, even if we cannot accept applications for the "older" cycle.
