Your New and Improved Blackbaud Community Experience is Coming Soon!

As highlighted in The Buzz earlier this month, the Blackbaud Community is getting a major upgrade as it transitions to a brand-new platform (on August 4) designed to positively enhance your experience! Here are more details as the platform migration starts later this week.

What’s Not Changing

Let’s start here:

  • The Community will still be your go-to destination for peer-support, collaboration, connection, product news and tips blogs, and the product idea banks.

  • You’ll still find resources, ask questions, and share expertise with tens of thousands of fellow social impact professionals.

  • We are still committed to providing you with an engaging, valuable community experience.

What’s New and What’s Possible

We’re refreshing how the Community looks and bringing you new capabilities:

  • Better Search: The new platform provides more powerful search, with filtering options such as “date created” range. We'll also have tags for key product-related topics and terms, so you can easily filter and read all posts related to that topic.

  • A Personalized Home Base: Your homepage evolves with you, and you’ll see content that reflects your role, goals, and interests.

  • New Opportunities to Be Recognized: Some badges will change, creating new opportunities to recognize your peers—and to be recognized—for activities like giving helpful responses to questions.

  • Better Posting Experience: You’ll have better options for embedding content and videos, will be able to save posts as drafts and come back to them, and developers will be able to share code via a purpose-built code editor feature that provides syntax highlighting and auto-indentation, making it easy to read and troubleshoot, no matter what language you’re using!

  • Easier to Manage, Easier to Grow: Our new platform releases new features regularly, which provides more flexibility in how we highlight top resources, launch new community spaces, and respond to your needs faster than ever.

When Is This Happening

As previously communicated, to get things ready for the new platform launch the community will be in read-only mode from July 25-August 4, during which you'll still be able to browse discussions and blogs and use the idea banks (submitting and voting on product feature ideas). There may be brief periods of time on July 25 and August 4 when the community is temporarily inaccessible, and users will get an error message.

Our Community All-Stars have been hard at work behind the scenes testing and providing feedback. On August 4 when the new Community launches, you will be able to start new discussions and reply to discussions again, and so much more. We can't wait for you to have a more dynamic, personalized, and value-driven community experience.

  • Hi Kim, glad to hear you are excited! You will need to reset your notifications, as though will not migrate over to the new platform. We will have articles that introduce everyone to the new platform once we are live on it, and will include instructions on how to re-subscribe to blogs and discussions.
