Adding a participant list

Options

Am I able to pull a participant list that is a merged query? I'm trying to save it as a list so I can pull it into my participant list for the event but it won't let me save it as a list. Any help will be appreciated as I am new to the events module.

not exactly sure what you trying to achieve here. Query is query, List is List, they are 2 different thing in RE NXT.

You cannot create a participant query and save it as a list.

  • @Alex Wong I guess I'm having a hard time explaining what I am trying to do. I am not familiar with events but am helping with setting up the event and instead of manually inputting over 300 names for the participant list, I wanted to pull that list into the event which I know has been done before. However, when I get to this screen below, it's asking me to search for a list.

That's where I am stuck and not sure how to turn my query into a list so that it will be there when I search for it. Sorry if this still doesn't make any sense. I know what I want my end results to be but have a hard time explaining what that is.

  • @Jolynn Uyehara It looks like maybe you are trying to add those who are invited to an event and unfortunately, even a static participant query in database view cannot be made into a list in NXT.

However, you mentioned a merged participant query. I think if you were to export that list and make sure to include a constituent id, you could take those ids to make a static constituent query which could be made into an NXT list to add all the invitees to your event.

@Jolynn Uyehara You'll have to import them into the event from the query as @Dan Snyder mentioned. You'll need the event ID to import them in and their RSVP status, invitation status, and some other information. You can also import guests in, but that is a separate import after the host import.

EDIT: Rereading the post, I'm thinking you created a constituent query, correct? You should be able to save the static query and create a list off of that. Depending on the criteria, might it be easier to recreate the query as a list from the beginning?

  • @Dariel Dixon thank you! I did reach out to support and they were able to walk me though and I was able to create a list which I am now able to retrieve under participants.
Thank you everyone for your input and suggestions!
