in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT®: General Discussions

Does anyone have any advice or a third party they use for event checkin? We are also having a lot of duplicates from registration forms. Does anyone have advice on how to make that work better for us? Also can forms require email addresses to be unique?

    I don't understand what you mean by a lot of duplicates form registration forms. if you are talking about RE NXT event registration form, yes, today Blackbaud matching algorithm isn't great and will create duplicate constituent record if it cannot find ONE matching record. This is something that Blackbaud is working to make better. I don't reallly have any advice other than you just have to merge them for now. Emails is required for the billing person, are you talking about guest of the billing person?

    @Jesse Calagna I do not have any advice on a third party app. When my former org did events I just used the Events module and checked people in through the participant list as Alex mentioned in the other post. I could also add new people right there since I had permissions to do so, which helped when Sally was coming in place of Suzie.

    As for the duplicates, my experience has been this occurs when I would preload the invitation list for sure, but also sometimes because RE isn't matching the entry to an existing record. When the person goes to RSVP and purchase any tickets (if necessary) instead of RE marking the already existing constituent as now attending it adds a new entry. The only way I have been able to overcome this is to review them as they come in by having the form send a notification to me when there's a registration. I then update the existing participant record, if necessary, or remap the entry to the correct constituent and then delete the new record. It is a bit of backwork but in the end it's helpful because everything remains clean.

    @Miki Martin thanks - the duplicate thing is frustrating but just have to do pre and post event data cleanup it seems. As for third party app, we ask because the events module in NXT is horribly slow when at an event and trying to check in 1000+ guests.

    @Jesse Calagna - Right now it's Seating Chart for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT… We'll be changing the name soon to reflect our transition to more of an Advance/Enhanced Events add-in with our new features, like check in (and more…)
