Queue Failing Multiple Times- Power BI reports
I know this may not be the correct spot to ask this but I use Queue to run my exports that I use in my Power BI reports. In the last few weeks many of them keep failing, I will get multiple status emails saying it failed or finished successfully.
Does anyone know if there has been changes done to Queue like time limits? I was wondering if the new Query API has affected Queue at all. I do have some queries in Queue that refresh static queries.
I've had to run my exports manually which is time consuming. I will create a support ticket although I doubt that will help the issue.

@Carol Grant Hi Carol, Stony Brook University is having the same issues with Queue. It is very unstable and we used to be able to run Queue jobs at the same time. and it started at the same time as yours. I have a ticket open with Blackbaud. I am going to refer them to this post as well. Thank you!

@Carol Grant, we are experiencing major issues as a result of this problem as well. I contacted support on 2/26/24 (our issues started on 2/25/24). They provided me a possible solution on 2/27 (resetting all my queue schedules), but that didn't work. Further updates from them stated that it might have something to do with Patch 34 but that they were still working on it. My last update from them was on 3/5/24 saying they were continuing to evaluate the issue. I reached out yesterday via my support ticket and haven't had a response.
Everything process we have feels broken right now and I have a backlog of over two weeks of continued errors and issues to deal with.
I have queues that do the following:
- Push out files for Power BI
- Update static queries that in turn help set off Power Automate flows for
- acknowledgements
- stewardship actions
- daily gift digests
- Export other nightly or weekly files for reports
There are also folks in a facebook user group experiencing similar issues:

@Nicole Szydlo- it's crippling for us as well. All I did this morning was run queries and exports. I think I commented on the Facebook group post already. Thanks for pasting that link.
@Heather McLean - I don't suppose you can push to someone higher up who deals with this to get more help for issues with Queue?

good thing is, i have disabled most of my RE:Queue items I used to do for data warehousing since Query API comes available.The only one left are using IMPORT to export all fund/appeal/package attributes, which is not really possible with Query API right now.
Might want to start thinking of doing same to get rid of RE:queue altogether

I was just checking to see if either of you were still experiencing issues with Queue. I am, I posted in the Facebook RE Group about it under Danny Bee's post and he is still having issues also.
As I sit here with 3 instances of DB View open running exports manually. ?

@Carol Grant Still having issues over here as well. If you haven't already, put in a support ticket and/or ask for your ticket to be escalated. I had a call with support on Friday and another with my customer success rep yesterday. They indicated that this is an ongoing issue that is being worked on and made sure my case was connected to that defect.

still having issue too. They told me i'm running too often, should not use the hourly option to run multiple times a day (I do 5x a day)So they recommend that i should reduce to every 6 or 8 hours. So I did 8 hours (5AM 1PM 9PM) 3x a day and more than half my run still fails.
I have reported back to them on this and have reduce even further to 1x a day. Will see how it goes. I still think it is a regression bug they introduced in the latest patch.

@Alex Wong- I don't have any that run multiple times a day. I doubt that will help you. I do have a few queues with 2-3 exports that run around the same time. I only run most of mine once a week. I had one set up to run last night by itself and still failed.

Thanks for stating that. I also do not believe once a day will help with this situation, however, BB support wants to “play that card” i'm just playing along until they realize they have a real bug to fix here, not how many/how often is our REQueue1 -
@Carol Grant HI there, I noticed the same issue/same time. The timing roughly coincided with access to the Query Tool in FE being launched for us.
I found that the bug affected any queues that included refresh steps for static queries - changing the static queries to dynamic fixed it for us.
We only had to update maybe a dozen queries in 4 or 5 queues - I imagine some of you have many many more to deal with or use cases that require static queries. Still wanted to share that adjusting to dynamic may be a work-around.

I no longer export using RE:Queue for database view query, as there is now ability to do that using Query API (even though it is only in public preview). So I don't know if static query is the issue or not.
However, my issue is exporting using Admin> Import.

@Carol Grant I have a few queues that run once a day and have been failing intermittently for about a month. I have just noticed for the first time yesterday that my queue scheduled to start at 4am did not start until 6:45am so not all my files were there for Power BI to refresh. I have a support case open and it is a known issue, but not sure what is really being done to fix it.

@Carol Grant yesterday I checked in on my outstanding case and Blackbaud said, “We've seen improvements across the board for Queue completions due to a couple changes, please set your queues to run and let me know if they work or fail?” I tried manually running and they ran. Then I rescheduled them to run overnight and they did! Hope it will start working for you @Carol Grant and everyone else!

@Therese Morris- yes, this week I have seen improvements finally! I didn't want to jinx myself and say anything yet. I'm staying hopeful though.

@Therese Morris Mine are working as well, not sure what they did, but glad it is fixed. I got a note in my case on Thursday to ask how it was going, but was out until today.
