Blackbaud Connector to RE NXT having Issues

Options

I seem to be having a connection issue with the connector. Every time I try to connect, it takes 5 or 6 times. I continue to get this error.

It says I am signed in. Yet, the credentials are invalid? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Bob Rickards - Have you enabled the Microsoft Power Platform app in the Marketplace? Check out the Initial Set-up guide for more information.

  • @Austen Brown - Yep…all connected and it works just fine, but logging in sometimes can be tedious.

@Ben Lambert - Any thoughts on this?

  • @Austen Brown This looks like the Power BI connector, right? If so, keep in mind that connector is a “custom” connector that is not an official PBI connector tied to the “Microsoft Power Platform” application in the Blackbaud Marketplace. It requires you to create a developer account, get an API key, register a SKY application, manually connect it to your environment via the Marketplace, and then paste in the app credentials (client ID/secret) of the application into the connector definition,

I haven't seen the error described in this thread, and unfortunately we don't provide official support for the Power BI connector.

I'd like to help if I can - just wanted to remove confusion between the PBI connector (custom, not official) and the other Power Platform connectors (official and certified, supported, etc.).

Bob - sorry for the hassle you're encountering! Internally via our tooling I can see your PBI connector and see that you have a LOT of refresh tokens created for it. So it really looks like “something” is going on with the token refresh process. Just to sanity check, can you double check the casing of your application ID and make sure it matches the value you pasted into the connector? I'll try to carve out some time to replicate this locally by creating my own custom connector and will report back if I can find out anything.

  • @Austen Brown @Ben Lambert - Connector looks good. Application ID and Application Secret look good. Everything works fine once I get in. It just takes a while to get in.
