Conditional letters not populating merge fields

My flow runs without errors but the word templates are not pulling in the merge fields. I've tagged the fields in Developer mode and the records are being read correctly to name the ack file correctly, also to select the correct word template but no merge fields are appearing in my “populated” word document.

    Hi Nelia,

    Which flow are you running? We've got a couple of the conditional ones including based on information pulled from the fund as well as based on the letter set on the gift. Are you using the sample acknowledgements or built out new ones from scratch? One thing to keep in mind when creating letters from scratch or updating the existing ones is that you use the Plain Text Content Control in Word as the Rich Text Content Control can cause issues.

    Is there a Conditional letter sample flow that merges the individual acknowledgement letters into a print-ready file now please? The one in the Template Showcase says it still doesn't, is that the problem Neila is having?

    Hi Glen, I added the conditional merge flow tasks to the SFTP one. I can use the data in the csv to generate the correct file name and pick the correct letter but the output from the “Populate a word template” is a blank (the tags are there) template with no merge fields appearing.

    I think this could be why! It's the question I asked - have they got a conditional letter sample flow that does populate the templates with the merge fields - apologies if I've not understood you properly..

    Hi Roz, for the conditional merges based on the letter code on the gift, there are currently no plans to auto-combine the files into a single file as part of the template flow. That's because there is no native way through the Microsoft connectors to do so when the structure of each of the files could be vastly different. You are welcome to check out the 3rd party Encodian connector that's referenced.

    So I'm clear, we're not talking about one of the published templates, but you had combined two of them together?
