Button Add On

Options

Hello I am trying to create a button add-on to trigger a flow in NXT. I have created several flows so I don't need help there. I am stuck at just creating the button and hooking it up to NXT. When I go to Power Apps do I choose blank canvas app? If so it asks for phone or tablet? I am not sure if I am in the correct area or if it matters if I choose phone or tablet? If I am in the right area do I just add a button to the screen? Where do I add the code than to trigger the flow?

    Hi Rachel,

If you haven't had a chance yet, check out the Invoke a Flow tutorial. It doesn't require a Power App to run, just a flow with a “When an HTTP request is received” trigger.

  • Thank you so much! I went through the tutorial, but I don't see a button on the constituent dashboard. Where exactly would I see that? I created the flow, encoded the URL, and added it to the add-in URL (see below). Am I choosing the wrong extension point?

You will need to select “Constituent Page Action (Preview)” as the extension point. Once in place, you should see a new “Add-ins” dropdown on the Constituent Records.

  • I just changed that to Constituent Page Action (Preview), but I am still not seeing a button. Should that be showing where these buttons are?

    Hey Rachel,

Can you double check that the Application that has that Add-In is showing as connected to your Environment? When looking at your Application, you can look to the upper left of the screen and see a button that says “View Environments”.

On the resulting screen, you should at least one entry in the list with reference to your org (instead of Blackbaud in this screenshot)

If nothing is showing up, then checkout the link at the top of the Invoke a flow tutorial labeled “Create an Application Guide” → Step2: Connect your app.

  • That was it! Thank you SO VERY MUCH!!
