Business Development Representative (BDR)
Full time: Base Salary + Bonus

Storyraise is a purpose-driven software company providing nonprofit organizations with access to create powerful, digital storytelling experiences. Our flagship product, Storyraise Reports, is a self-service platform that makes it easy and fun for nonprofits to create personalized, web-based annual, impact, and donor reports. Our Storyraise Video, also offers the ability for nonprofits to create, scale and send personalized video to say thank you to donors, and raise funds!
We’re seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to focus on discovering and qualifying new sales opportunities, through email and phone, with introductions and education, across our target customer base: U.S based nonprofits, foundations, associations and schools, with revenues between $10M and $100M per year.
This is a role for someone who is energized by outreach, unafraid of cold conversations, and deeply curious about the nonprofit landscape. You’ll be the first touchpoint many prospects have with Storyraise—helping them imagine how digital storytelling can increase their engagement with donors.
Role Overview
As a BDR, you will prospect and research the right roles, reach out and engage with prospects, qualify the right leads through and pass them on to the sales teams.
Responsibilities
Prospect and Research: Identify and source new leads across our target verticals using tools like LinkedIn, online databases, our conference attendee lists, and your own research. We have lists, we will train, but we need a self-starter that is ready to dig in.
Outreach and Engagement: Conduct outbound outreach via email and phone to introduce Storyraise and qualify leads.
Qualification: Conduct short discovery calls to assess prospect fit and interest, and educate on our solutions, before handing them off to the sales team for demos.
CRM Management: Track all activity and lead status using our CRM system and contribute to refining prospecting workflows.
Feedback Loop: Share insight with leadership on market trends, objections, and patterns emerging during outreach.
What We're Looking for
- A self-starter who thrives on the challenge of opening doors and starting conversations.
- Experience with hard deadlines, moving the needle and motivated to sell.
- Comfortable with learning new digital tools like Hubspot
- A master at searching on LinkedIn
- You love cold email outreach and don't mind the research to personalize it one at a time, picking up the phone and experienced navigating around LinkedIn.
- No issues picking up the phone and making a cold call
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when it comes to conveying information concisely
- How to win at this role: Hit and exceed quotas that drive the right type of demos to the Head of Sales
Role Details - Status: Full-time, remote
- Location: United States
- Career Track: Advancement potential to Account Executive
- Compensation: $65,000-75,000 base salary, plus bonus of $10,000-15,000 bonus with no cap. On-target earnings (OTE) ~$75,000-$90,000 plus healthcare benefits and unlimited vacation time.
