Foundation Business Analyst

Position Highlights

The Foundation Business Analyst provides support for our comprehensive fundraising data and information systems, leveraging technology to automate, streamline, and integrate information to foster a data-driven culture and maximize the use of our data. This position is responsible for analyzing data & fundraising processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, this role partners with Moffitt IT in connecting and aggregating disparate data sets to clean and unify in preparation for modeling and analysis. This role manages our fundraising information systems and tools to deliver consistently accurate data insights and visualizations through high-quality reports and dashboards that inform business, communication, and fundraising decisions.

Selected Responsibilities

Development Operations

• Conduct thorough analysis of business processes and systems.

• Identify and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide data-driven recommendations.

• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports.

• Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements and present findings, by identifying patterns, trends, and relationships in complex data sets.

• Perform gap analysis and propose solutions to bridge identified gaps.

• Assist in the development and implementation of new business processes and systems.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.

• Provide training and support to end-users.

• Other duties may be assigned to meet organizational needs

Data Management

• Identify, retrieve, query, and append data from internal and external data sources.

• Connect and aggregate data from multiple sources.

• Document and maintain information and processes to ensure consistent, repeatable analysis and insights.

• Perform data storage management, including consistent backups and regular updates.

• Oversee and conduct data validation to ensure integrity of data mappings and integrations.

Credentials and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree within Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or similar is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in data analytics, including conducting data analysis in a business environment, executing data preparation, and working with data visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and analytic ability to organize information and identify patterns, trends, and relationships in complex data sets.
  • Ability to maintain current and accurate knowledge of data storage and management best practices.
  • Ability to anticipate or understand the needs of a data request and translate that into deliverables.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree
  • Exposure and insight into the essential steps for integrating and consolidating diverse data sets, ensuring they are cleaned and unified for accurate modeling and analysis.
  • Previous experience in a health care environment.
  • Fluency in Power BI (or a similar visualization platform) and/or SQL; experience with other Power Platform applications, such as Power Automate, a plus.
  • Previous experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT, iWave, Research Point, or similar research technologies.
