Missing Information

Options

Hi, I am currently testing out the use of Power BI for creating dashboards for my team. I'm new to Power BI and I'm getting our RE data using the connector. I see it is possible to use NXT Lists, however, I see in Power BI there is data missing that is included in the NXT lists.

For example, when trying to evaluate how much is raised by Appeal using a gift list, I see that while the appeal is listed in NXT, the same list in Power BI does not include these appeals. Is this an issue with a settings option in Power BI, do I have to extract the appeals a different way, is it even possible to evaluate money raised by appeals, funds, and more using the connector?

Thanks.

You are having a misunderstanding of what Power BI is doing using the (unofficial) Blackbaud connector. It is not getting your org's RE NXT webview's list and display the rows and columns according to that.

the constituent list will provide the same columns for ALL that uses the Blackabaud (unoffical) connector's and will provide ALL the data rows (all constituent, all gift, etc). If you were to use the “by list” function, it will ask you for a list id and will load only constituent data row that fits in the list filter, BUT will still only provide constituent columns same as mentioned above, NOT what you see in the list when you open it in webview.

for gift, it will give you “List” array of gift split that you can “expand”. As ONE gift can have more than one gift split. It also will not give you appeal id (lookup id) or appeal description. It will only give you appeal system record id, which you will need to get a list of appeal, join/merge the table by the system record id to get appeal lookup id and description (and appeal category, etc).
