Hi, there has been numerous issues regarding setting up Power BI Blackbaud (unofficial) custom connector. I have directed them to a post I previously replied to that has info that helped some fix their issue.

Question is, didn't we (led by Heather) worked on a new documentation on doing this setup that is supposed to be clearer?

    Yes. The GitHub ReadMe has been updated to describe the Scopes required to allow the app to access data. Also, a section was added about using a data gateway to facilitate refreshes after a report is published to Power BI Service.

    I see the Scope section only mentioned giving Limited data access/Read to Raiser's Edge NXT, but our Financial Edge NXT users will want to grant Read access to that database as well.

    I have found some users trying to use the Power BI Connector to access data that their Financial Edge NXT user is not granted rights to. Remember that the user logging into the Connector in Power BI Desktop (or in the data gateway on Power BI Service) must have rights to access the report's source data within Raiser's Edge NXT and/or Financial Edge NXT. This is in addition to setting up the proper Scope on the application.
