Sharing my Power Automate template: Years Giving and Consecutive

Options

First, a big Thank You to everyone in the Power Automate User Group for the guidance in getting this created. Alex Wong, you are an invaluable resource!

- Description: This automation creates a SharePoint file with columns for ConsID, Name, Years Giving and Years Consecutive. The Years Giving and Years Consecutive values appear in RE NXT on a Constituent Record in the Giving panel. ConsID column exported will allow use of VLOOKUP in Excel to add this data to other exports.

- Required connections: BB RE NXT Constituents, BB SKY Add-ins, Excel Online (Business). User will need SharePoint.

- Suggested skill level required to use this template: Beginner

- Configuration details: User will need to select their Constituent List and set the pathway to SharePoint. Additional consideration should be about how often this will be run, as the NameOfFile variable is set to format the date as MM-dd-yyyy and insert this into the file name being created. User could easily rename a file already written to SharePoint, so any additional flows run on the same date don’t cause an error.

- Category: Data Management

- Instructions:

1) After setting up all Connections, Edit the flow for your environment.

2) Go to the List constituents step and select the constituent List built in RE NXT for which you want data of Years Giving and Years Consecutive.

3) Create a SharePoint file named Years Giving and Years Consecutive, with 4 columns: ConsID, Name, Years Giving, Years Consecutive. This will be your template file which is read as headers on the file being created.

4) Go to the Get file content step, and update with your SharePoint Site Address. File Identifier should point to your template file.

5) Go to the Create file – new SharePoint destination step, and update Site Address and Folder Path

6) Go to the Add a row into a table step, and update several fields to reflect where you are saving on SharePoint, specifically the Location, Document Library, and File path.

Thank you, Chris, for sharing this Power Automate flow! I have used your flow as a template to create an audit for our Consecutive Years Giving Society.

You saved me hours of work trying to figure out how to get the consecutive years giving end point!

    You Rock!
