Power Automate/NXT Integration

Options

I'm struggling to get past Step 4 when adding Blackbaud NXT to our Power Automate. When I try to test the flow I get a popup that says “start 90 day free trial” but my understanding was that since we already have a Power Automate license there shouldn't be an additional cost. What am I missing?

  • There's different licensing for Power Automate. If you have 365 Business, it come with Power Automate standard. This will allow you to use the basic connectors (mostly internal Microsoft products). Things like NXT are premium connectors and require a Per User or Per Flow license.

  • And do you happen to know which license I would need? I'm not sure my IT department knows what I'm needing. Right now they seem to think that I need access to Blackbaud's tenant, which I'm fairly certain is not the case.

  • Either license will work. It depends on the functionality you're wanting as to which license is the best option. For the Per User license, automations (flows) that have any sort of premium connectors, only those assigned with a license can trigger the flow. With a Per Flow license, everyone within that domain can use the flow, but you're paying per flow. So it really just depends on the need of the organization.

You don't need access to the Blackbaud tenant, the connectors are already preconfigured to the API. But, you will need to provide RE NXT credentials when you first set up the connector. It utilizes Microsofts OAuth2 authentication.

  • @Matt Thacker Thank you!
