Asst. Director of Reporting - Adv Serv - Elon (NC)
Hi all!
I am looking to hire an Assistant Director for Reporting role for my Advancement services team. We are located between Greensboro and Durham, NC, and this would be a fully in-person job.
- The starting rate is $47,000 - DOE.

This position will ensure the reporting needs of University Advancement are being met in an accurate and efficient manner, while also helping the team understand how to best utilize the information. This position will be responsible for the completion of larger, division wide, reporting needs including, but not limited to, the annual VSE report, the annual University Advancement Planning Document, and any reporting for the Board of Trustees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Create visually appealing and easy-to-read reports that drive strategy within the division and inform leadership and partners of results
• Use Raiser’s Edge database querying and reporting tools to extract, analyze, and report data
• Manage the current Power BI Advancement Reports and Dashboards for annual reporting, along with Dashboards and reports for the Elon Leads Campaign
• Troubleshoot errors with reports, queries, exports and resolve any issues that arise
• Contribute to the evaluation of vendors and analysis tools
• Maintain proficiency and continuously develop expertise in new developments in the reporting and analytics field
• Assist with technology efforts, reporting and data tracking for Elon Day
• Work closely with the Office of Information Technologies to define parameters for data use and access management.
• Collaborate with various University Advancement offices to understand their information and business needs and develop innovative and effective data reporting and analysis solutions
• Leverage analytics to support the goals of the University Advancement office – ranging
from strategy development to the application of predictive models and metrics to increase fundraising, participation, and engagement
• Use data and analytics to assess existing programs and segments and make recommendations for improvement and partner with other team members to develop segmentation strategies and analysis of
results
• Monitor performance of specific projects and overall results; provide projections and forecasts of activity and goals.
• Serve as a backup for the Director of Advancement Services
• Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
• Proficiency in SQL or other database query tools and relational databases preferred
• Previous experience with Power BI, or other Data Visualization/Business Intelligence tool
• Experience using Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge NXT and Crystal Reports is a plus
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel or relevant software for extracting, manipulating, analyzing, visualizing, and reporting data;
• High degree of technical ability and hands-on experience with Business intelligence solutions
• Ability to translate highly technical concepts and ideas to a level of understanding for all user levels
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Self-starter and strategic thinker
**Specific training in higher education development/fundraising is desirable and some certification/experience in data science and/or data visualization preferred, but not required.
