Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in the north and east King County, WA. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline and Sno-Valley (Carnation), we are the largest nonprofit organization in the area. Hopelink programs and services focus on five key areas: food, financial assistance, housing & family development, adult education & employment and transportation/mobility. Programs are aimed at helping people achieve stability, and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.

Summary:

The Development Specialist - Operations is responsible for all aspects of gift processing to ensure the accurate and timely recording of donor gifts in Hopelink’s Raiser's Edge database, updating donor information, and assisting with fundraising activities. Works collaboratively with the Development team to support team goals; provides information about gifts or constituent records, conducts donor research, maintains hard copies, manages event registration, and updates processes and procedure manuals, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • Enters all contributions into the Raiser's Edge database system and applies accurate coding for each record.
  • Reviews and updates existing individual and organization records as part of gift processing. create new individual and organization records when appropriate.
  • Import electronic gift data from online donation platforms to constituent Raiser’s Edge, using Import-O-Matic software plugin.
  • Administers general database maintenance as directed by the Sr. Manager, Development Operations.
  • Responsible for event registration, seating, and table logistics. Create and/or update constituent records as needed in support of event registration and participation.
  • Serves as customer service resource to constituents and staff to answer questions about gifts and constituent records.
  • Maintains, batches, and archives hard copy files; prepares files for audits.
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Manager, Development Operations, creates and maintains gift entry policies and procedure manual for Raiser’s edge.
  • Serves as back up for Development Coordinator in performing administrative duties such as credit card reconciliation, occasional support for executive staff and other related duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of gift processing and analysis in a non-profit environment. Basic knowledge of fundraising and the non-profit sector.
  • Minimum 1-3 + years prior related experience in gift processing and/or accounting.
  • Strong customer service skills, responding to multiple questions via phone, email and in person.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with use of relational databases (Raiser’s Edge, eTapestry, CRM) or other similar products; and experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Detail oriented, with a high level of accountability for accuracy and an ability to maintain an attention to detail during routine work.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision exercising excellent professional judgment.
  • Able to work occasional nights and weekends on events.
