Sharing my Power Automate Flow: Giving Society Management with Custom Fields

This flow will add or update giving society custom fields, including a consecutive year tally in the comments section.

Configuration Needs
  1. Please note: We have a custom field category of Leadership Donor, a value table with five (5) leadership giving levels, and we use the comments field to track the number of consecutive years a donor has given at any leadership level. When we started tracking this information we did one large import to make sure we were not starting at 1 for everyone when there are many donors who have given at the leadership level for years.
  2. Create two webview lists.
    1. A constituent list for donors who have given at the giving society level ($1K-$2.49K for this example) in the current fiscal year.
    2. Create a list for donors who have given at the giving society level ($1K-$2.49K) this fiscal year, but already have the custom field on their record and the date on the custom field is in the last FY.
  3. In the “New Associate Donors ($1K-$2.49K)” step, you will need to select the list you created in step 2a from above.
  4. Within the Adding Leadership Giving custom field loop you will need update the Category and Value fields to your organizations custom field options. Comment field should be 1
  5. In the “Renewed Associate Donors ($1K-$2.49K)” step, you will need to select the list you created in step 2b from above.
  6. Within the Updating Leadership Giving custom field loop you will need update two steps.
    1. In the Filter for Leadership Donor step you need to enter the name of the custom field category you want to update.
    2. In the Update Leadership custom field step you will want to change the Category and Value fields to your organization’s custom field options.
