Database Specialist
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Database Specialist oversees the day-to-day and long-term operations of CLC’s donor database and assures its quality, consistency, and accuracy. The position is responsible for entry and processing of all contributions to CLC from receipt through acknowledgement; for maintaining and improving the overall integrity of the donor database and its integration with other databases in use at CLC; for managing reporting and reconciliation both within the Development department and with the Finance department; for report writing and analysis in response to fundraising needs; and for ensuring that the Development department adheres to organization-wide policies and procedures on data collection, retention, and management.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain an accurate donor database in Raiser’s Edge for CLC, and for all functions, including data entry, gift processing, contact records, lists, statistical reports, and analysis

Enter, record, and process contributions to CLC from receipt through acknowledgement

Maintain all individual and organizational records, input and update biographical, geographical, professional, financial, and other information

Prepare and maintain fundraising reports and dashboards for the development team

Collaborate with members of the development team to maintain accurate and timely cultivation, solicitation, gift entry, and acknowledgement processes, including maintaining moves management and/or next touchpoint for every donor

Follow-up with development and other CLC staff to create contact reports after donor meetings

Create weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for development, finance, and executive teams

Suggest creative ways to help fundraisers maximize the use of data with the goal of deepening the understanding of donor behavior and drive increased giving

Collaborate with members of the Development and Finance teams to manage reconciliation of development financial records with finance records

Produce and maintain lists for all mailings and communications

Develop and maintain a dynamic list of policies, procedures, and regulations for the database and its use

Train and oversee other Development team members in proper use of the database

Ensure compliance with CLC’s policies and procedures around data

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all data

Assist with Development department tasks and events as needed
Qualifications
-
At least two years of database experience and proficiency in Raiser’s Edge
-
High level of attention to detail

Ability to serve as the team CRM expert, providing technical support and managing all updates and backend needs

Knowledge and interest in fundraising

Record of successfully collaborating with staff to produce reports and analyze fundraising trends

Understanding of diverse donor bases

Bachelor's Degree required
