The Advancement unit of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) raises funds to support the broad range of programs and services offered to LSSI clients. The person in this position will be responsible for a mid level donor portfolio.

  • Work as a member of the Advancement Dept. Team in identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting midlevel gifts from prospective and current donors to advance philanthropy.
  • Manage a portfolio of up to 500 prospective donors, prospects and suspects by phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Provide a minimum of 12 touchpoints per year for each donor, with additional personalized contact for Tier A donors.
  • Participate in Moves Management meetings; identify and qualify annual fund donors for the midlevel program; identify and qualify midlevel donors for major gift portfolios and planned giving proposals.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with program staff.
  • Attend and assist with fundraising events, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • College degree
  • One to three years of fundraising experience
  • Exceptional listening, writing and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to identify planned giving prospects for referral
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteer
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred
  • Familiarity with Moves Management/Stewardship Model
