Description

The Annual Giving Manager at Homeless Solutions will report to the Chief Development Officer and is responsible for renewing and upgrading philanthropic support from individual donors. This role will work collaboratively with all HSI staff to ensure successful execution of the Annual Giving Program and Fund Development efforts, supporting the operations and programs of this non-profit, social services agency. This is an onsite, full time, exempt position based in our Cedar Knolls, NJ administrative offices.

Primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage HSI's Annual Giving Program through segmented, personalized fundraising including the Annual Appeal.
  • Accountable for relationship building with HSI's growing base of supporters (approximately 2,800)
  • Create timeline, copy, design and overall strategy for direct mail Annual Appeal.
  • Work with Development Operations Manager to successfully execute Annual Appeal process.
  • Work with Associate Director of Marketing & Communications to produce digital campaigns/appeals as part of HSI's Annual Giving, including Giving Tuesday.
  • Responsible for messaging of Donor Acknowledgment letters.
  • Work with HSI colleagues on storytelling and procuring supporter testimonials.
  • Analyze donor retention metrics and track Annual Giving growth across donor categories (new, event, lapsed, etc.)
  • Design and implement New Donor Retention plan.
  • Work collaboratively with all Development team members to ensure all appropriate donor information is added to Raisers Edge database and follow-up strategies are determined.
  • Support CDO in all aspects of Homeless Solutions' fundraising efforts.
  • Cross train with other members of Development staff to acquire and maintain a basic knowledge of departmental responsibilities.
  • Participate in HSI staff meetings and activities to encourage cross functional relationships within the organization.
  • Exhibit strong personal accountability for awareness of and adherence to company standards, policies, procedures and processes in all aspects of employment with HSI.


Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required
  • Proficiency with Raiser's Edge software and reporting required.
  • Desired Experience and required physical abilities include:
    • Minimum 3-5 years, proven success in non-profit fundraising
    • High energy, self motivated and experienced in managing multiple priorities
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
    • Collaborative colleague with demonstrated ability to work as part of a high performing, results driven fundraising team.
    • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
    • Satisfactory results of periodic background checks.
    • Ability to sit and work at a desk and computer for expended period of time and be able to lift packages that are no more than 25 pounds of materials used in the scope of the job.
    • Requires adequate mobility to give HSI tours and attendance at events which may be held outdoors, or in facilities with multiple sets of stairs.
    • Clarity of vision at close range and longer distance.
    • Availability for occasional weekend or evening attendance at committee meetings or events as required in this role.
    • Regular and predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this position.

Full time staff at HSI are eligible to participate in fully funded (company paid) medical, dental, life and long term disability plans after a 90 day period of employment. All staff are eligible immediately upon start date to participate in the 401k Profit Sharing Plan, with company match up to 6% of salary.
