POSITION SUMMARY
The Database Administrator for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) will support the internal systems, technologies and procedures of the development department by managing all aspects of the database. This position is ideal for an ambitious professional interested in the systems associated with running an expanding fundraising program. This position must understand the importance of timely and accurate data, enjoy improving systems, appreciate the need to use discretion and want to own a core function. This position will work in close, daily partnership with the Chief Development Officer and be the “go to” authority on fundraising moves management needs for BGCGW’s Comprehensive Campaign.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage current Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM and serve as staff expert in Raiser’s Edge NXT (at least four years’ experience with Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT required).
· Responsible for all aspects of database hygiene and maintenance, including constituent management and tracking, importing data, data entry and pledge management, timely gift acknowledgements and donor record upkeep with emphasis on accuracy and consistency and performing periodic audits to lead data clean-up projects.
· Develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of BGCGW’s more important individual and corporate donors within the first year and be able work closely with the Chief Development Officer and the entire development team to apply that knowledge to internal donor cultivation and stewardship strategy discussions.
· Build systems and standards for coding and tracking campaign prospects, volunteer solicitors and gifts so that reports can be generated.
· Serve as the point person for generating reports, queries, exports, mailing lists, email lists and donor listings from Raiser’s Edge, including familiarity with complex reports.
· Ensure monthly reconciling takes place on a regular basis.
· Ensure that online appeals are fully integrated with Raiser’s Edge NXT.
· Serve as staff liaison between development and finance teams: provide weekly, monthly and quarterly non-program revenue reports and manage the monthly revenue reconciliation process with the finance department, including troubleshooting any issues and appropriately updating the donor database.
· Responsible for all campaign reporting, including progress to goals, dashboards, reports for the campaign committee, prospect tracking and all other campaign-related information from the database.
· Track and provide give and get reports for all Metro and Regional Board members monthly and quarterly Scorecard for Metro Board members.
· Be proactive regarding daily database issues. Be willing and able to solve data problems or conflicts through personal initiative.
· Train applicable staff in use of the database and all standard departmental procedures. Manage the database security.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum seven years Raiser’s Edge AND Raiser’s Edge NXT database experience required.
· Extraordinary attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Systems-level thinker, comfortable explaining complex procedures to others.
· Able to manage a large volume of tasks independently, balance competing priorities and meet critical deadlines.
· Commitment to the mission of BGCGW – must adhere to the highest ethical standards, demonstrate an empathetic disposition and perseverance, and convey sensitivity to the needs of donors, staff and volunteers.
· Enjoys working in a development department with high functioning fundraisers; team-focused, must enjoy and be successful at working on teams and able to roll up one’s sleeves and make things happen as an individual.
· Flexibility, must be comfortable collaborating across multiple departments, six regional boards, 15 Club locations in the greater Washington DC area and our virtual Club, Clubhouse @ Your House.
· Comfort multi-tasking multiple deadlines and projects and follow through.
· Strong problem-solving skills: a go-getter who works flexibly and is focused on fixing problems as they arise.
· Must be able to work at BGCGW headquarters, 4103 Benning Road NE, Washington DC, during normal operations.
· Must have strong home internet connection to work remotely during COVID-19 (work laptop will be provided).
· Must own or have priority access to a car.
· Evening and weekend work to be anticipated and occasionally expected.

· This position is sedentary and located at 4103 Benning Road, NE, Washington, DC during normal operations.
· Requires the ability to speak, hear, and use a personal computer for standard business communications.
