Data Services Specialist - School Sisters of St. Francis

The School Sisters of St. Francis in Milwaukee, WI fundraising department is looking for a full-time specialist who enjoys focusing on data, using computer applications, and being part of a highly productive team. This Data Services Specialist position is a team member of Mission Advancement that raises funds to support a wide range of ministries in eleven countries that serve the needs of those who suffer from inequality, poverty, and hunger around the world.

With a high degree of accuracy and timeliness, the Data Services Specialist is responsible for daily donation processing and production of acknowledgement letters, including entry of donor biographical information. The position is backup support to the Data Services Administrator, and performs other assigned tasks as needed to support all fundraising initiatives of other members of the International Office of Mission Advancement department.

Requirements include:
  • 2-3 years using fundraising software required, including experience in batch entry, query, and report functions. Raiser’s Edge or other Blackbaud system highly preferred.
  • Able to enter and retrieve data efficiently and with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, as well as run reports from database records.
  • Well-developed analytical skills for applying constituency and gift codes, as evidenced by previous assignments and experience.
  • Possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to include letter production, mail merge, creating excel tables involving math and text formulas, and import/export functions.
  • Able to work independently and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines, and be a collaborative team player when special projects are required.
  • Able to exercise discretion and safeguard confidentiality of constituent information at all times.
  • Professional character that is consistent, capable, reliable, well-organized, flexible, and personable in a small office environment and in interactions with donors.
Education: Post high school required with experience in fundraising environment; college degree preferred.
