The Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, which manages all donations made to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Manager of our Development Data and Gift Processing. This manager will be responsible for the overall management and daily operation of the Foundation’s database in Raiser’s Edge. This database tracks all donors, prospects, event participants and charitable gifts. This position provides technical and managerial oversight, establishing and monitoring policies for database use, data entry, and data integrity, in addition to the process of recording and acknowledging all donor gifts (more than 100,000 annually). The successful applicant will have a proven record of data processing and working with a relational database; experience with Raiser's Edge (RE); and with a demonstrated understanding of non-profit fundraising.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise data entry team (4 employees) to complete timely and accurate processing of gifts, including acknowledgement letters generated in a timely manner.

  • Maintain donor database health to enhance accuracy, integrity, and security.

  • Create and provide required data utilizing RE queries, exports, and reports for internal and external use (mailing lists, email blasts, suppression files, donor lists, etc.).

  • Perform data imports and updates into RE, including the use of Importomatic and gifts from Luminate/TeamRaiser.

  • Work with the finance team to close each month, including reviewing all gift entries for accuracy in coding; double checking and comparing offline and online entry for final entry in Financial Edge.

  • Ensure routine database maintenance tasks (opt outs, returned mail) are performed in a timely manner and to defined quality standards.

  • Contribute to all Policies & Procedures for gift entry, reporting, queries, and quality control for data entry staff and provide tactical solutions for process implementation above and beyond as needed.

  • Set up and/or update code tables in RE.

  • Furnish administrative and user rights to staff as needed.

  • Provide training to employees as needed on tactical steps and best practices in RE and RE NXT.

  • This role requires close collaboration with all members of the Foundation to ensure the database and gift entry serves the Foundation’s overall needs and objectives.

  • Reports to the Foundation’s Assistant Director of Web and Operations.


Qualifications:

  • Approximately 5 years’ experience specifically with database management

  • Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge experience

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with data queries and segmentation

  • Knowledge of basic principles of fundraising

  • Supervision experience

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Organized and detail oriented

  • Bachelor’s Degree
