Job Summary:
The Prospect Research Analyst will be responsible for researching individuals and groups to assess their viability as prospective major, leadership and planned gift donors, working closey with Development solicitors and Foundation Regional Gift Planners to successfully manage prospect portfolios and donor data. Manage the implementation and maintenance of effective research and prospect management methods, protocols and efficient data collection and dissemination.
Responsibilities include:
  1. Manage the prospect research request queue and respond to a variety of requests, from writing quick event bios to drafting full prospect profiles. Implement policies to guide data entry to ensure the donor database effectively captures prospect research to generate accurate analytical reports.
  2. Serve as resource and assist with ECIS training for Mission Funding Directors and Regional Gift Planners in areas pertaining to prospect-based fundraising, management of portfolios and pipelines in ECIS.
  3. Provide support and work on the facilitation of prospect lists, gift tables and pyramids to assist in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors, leadership groups and major donor events.
  4. Implement strategies and recommendations for prospect management meetings. Collaborate with Development and Foundation leadership to adhere to prospect management policies and practices.
  5. Provide support in the creation of prospect management and donor pipeline major giving reports for leadership.
  6. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all areas of prospect management, prospect pools and pipelines, prospect research and information/records management.
Experience and Skills:
  1. Five years experience with nonprofit development strategies in a large organization or higher education including major and planned gift marketing strategies
  2. Aptitude for computer research, experience with donor and research-based software
  3. Ability to communicate with and be an effective support to a large major gift and planned gift prospect management team
  4. Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality
  5. Strong working knowledge of Blackbaud solutions; Microsoft Office focusing on Excel, Access and Word.
  6. Must be willing and able to travel periodically by air and automobile.
