The Fund Development Manager is accountable for developing and managing the council’s annual giving campaign, coordinating the council’s fund development data management systems, researching and producing funding proposals, and providing support to the council’s overall fundraising program.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develops and manages the annual giving campaign, maintains donor lists, and monitors campaign results.

• Manages Raiser’s Edge Database (data entry, upkeep, report and query preparation and execution, mailing list creation, and maintains database integrity.

• Leads Development team with donor recognition and acknowledgment practices.

• Researches national, regional and local fundraising trends and laws impacting the fundraising field. Keeps the Fund Development Director informed of factors impacting fundraising within the council jurisdiction.

• Coordinates and maintains an effective fund development data management system to ensure accurate donor acknowledgment and access to funding sources.

• Assists in developing and maintaining the council’s fundraising procedures.

• Assists in planning fundraising campaigns and works with community volunteers and council staff to implement campaign strategies.

• Investigates and implements activities and special events to support the council’s fundraising efforts

- Year-End & Summer Appeals

- Give STL day

- Other events as assigned

• Assists with the alumni list and donor records to help the Fund Development staff build relationships with benefactors.

• Donor relations, communications, and connections with Girl Scouts and alumnae from or in the council. This may involve participation and work focused on annual alumnae dinners, history events, single point of entry events, and other activities appropriate to bring in past members and engaging them in dialogue about the mission and future of Girl Scouts.

• Provides administrative assistance as needed to other Fund Development staff members.

• Oversee monthly eNewsletter Fund Development submissions

• Manages and organizes ‘Friends’ GSofSI email account and responds promptly with superb customer service.

• Researches, develops, and produces funding proposals to underwrite special projects (as needed).

• Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• Knowledge of and experience in fundraising and communications. (Preferred: 3-5 years of experience; Required: 1 year of experience)

• Preferred experience with database administration, data entry, data quality control, and producing reports, specific to Raiser’s Edge (or comparable donor databases)

• Preferred experience with event planning

• Some experience in proposal writing, cultivating donors and funding sources

• Familiar with fundraising state laws and trends

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills & customer service skills.

• Possess the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends. Ability to travel as the job requires

• Willingness to perform tasks that involve the ability to exert light physical effort which include some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects and materials of moderate weight (25 pounds)

• Understanding and acceptance of the Girl Scout promise, law, beliefs, and principles.

• Willingness to become a member of Girl Scouts of the USA
