RENXT Event Forms

Options
I would like to be able to register guests on the participant registration form. For now I have added "Guest Name" as a participant option in the event. Does anyone have another workaround that will add the guest to the participant registration?

  • If you are referring to an individual who is registering with one or more guests, when you choose more that one in the quantity box while filling out a registration form you will be promoted to add the guests names automatically. No additional fields are needed. See example below. If, however, your registration unit is something like "Table of 8" and you choose 1 unit, you would need extra fields. I did something like that awhile back - I just need to find it.

  • Ok, that is promising. In order to make it work we would have to offer individual tickets? What would happen if the tickets were sold in pairs?

    Thank you!
  • Then I believe you would need the extra field. I have to search through some of my older forms. Most of ours are sold individually anyway. In the case of sponsorships that include tickets, most of the time they have no clue at the time of registration who will be using them so it doesn't matter anyway.

You've gotten some great information here! I'll tack on from a product perspective.

Currently, the NXT event form does not support capturing more than one "name" per ticket/price selected. For individual tickets, the user will just enter in multiples, and can then enter a name (and additional bio info like email, phone or address if you want to ask for it) for each individual/ticket they are purchasing.

The only workaround to this is as Patti mentioned. You can setup participant options for Guest Name as a text entry field. (Or if you're expecting four names for something like a golf foursome, setup 4 Participant Options, one for each name.)

The downside - or upside, I've heard it as both ways! - to this is that it does not create participant records for the guests so they are not included in the participant totals. You'd see these guests by going to the participant record in the backoffice where you can see the participant options.

Surprisingly I did not find anything in the Ideas bank for this. I've added a new Idea in your name so you can track future progress towards this feature: https://renxt.ideas.aha.io/ideas/RENXT-I-4063.
