POSITION SUMMARY
Will be responsible for all activities related to prospect research, including research on individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Coordinator should take a proactive view of research striving to identify new sources of support and works with major gift officers to prioritize contacts with prospects.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Conduct detailed research using online databases, internet resources and internal databases to analyze, interpret and disseminate financial, biographical and historical information on donor prospects and suspects to the College.
- Ensure that background information on potential funding sources is electronically recorded and stored for future reference.
- Produce research profiles/executive summaries on potential fund sources for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship purposes.
- Coordinate prospect assignments and tracking and assist in maintaining the prospect profiles for major gift officers.
- Provide value-added critical analysis to secondary research using independent judgment, strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
- Create written reports compiling this information and oversee appropriate dissemination.
- Work closely with Director of Development and Vice President of Institutional Advancement to conduct special research projects or analysis in support of specific College objectives.
- Assists alumni staff with pinpointing specific prospects to invite to events where the President will be in attendance.
- Maintains assigned prospects and suspects for major gift officers.
- Prepare summaries of prospects attending College events for President and Vice President.
- Share updated research information with members of the staff and proactively help plan next action steps with potential prospects uncovered through research.
- Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree in any field preferred but not required.
Experience: Preference of two years administrative and office management experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Other Requirements: Demonstrated skill in utilizing major online databases in a fundraising environment, preferable at a college of university. Knowledgeable of Alumni Finder, iWave, Wealth Engine, Legacy, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Raiser's Edge and Datatel familiarity desired. Ability to gather information effectively from a variety of sources and analyze legal documents along with biographical and financial information. Demonstrated experience in the identification of donor prospects. Extensive knowledge of fundraising environment and structures. Thorough knowledge of the principles of donor stewardship in higher education. Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on research data findings. Detail-oriented, highly driven and results-oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Organizational skills to handle several projects simultaneously. Prioritize and meet deadlines. Strong initiative. Self-motivated. The ability to work both independently and in teams
