Summary:

The Membership Manager is responsible for implementing the strategic initiatives involving both individual and corporate memberships. Core functions will be marketing outreach to current, lapsed and prospective members, maintaining the Association’s Raisers Edge database, and recording all incoming memberships, contributions, sponsorships, grants, pledges, and payments. The Manager will also provide prospective donor research information to the Executive Director.

The Membership Manager works collaboratively with the Executive Director, Director of Accounting, Director of

Communications & Grant Writing, and may field questions from all other departments.

Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (preferred degree in business or related field); or minimum three years related Membership experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have at least one year of Raiser's Edge experience to be considered.

Duties include:
Marketing Outreach – Membership:

• Work with Association Directors and implement strategic initiatives through targeted membership solicitations;

• Assist Communications Director in the creation of membership campaigns to encourage new member sign ups;

• Assist Communications Director in the creation of membership campaigns to win back constituents whose memberships had previously lapsed;

• Ensure membership renewal notices are sent to members whose membership terms are expiring at the end of the month;

• Maintain the user database for TSHA’s online membership portal to ensure members have full access to the portal throughout their membership term;

• Maintain TSHA’s email address database to ensure members receive all necessary communications throughout their membership term;

• Utilize Raisers Edge & RENXT to help identify and research prospective donors for membership (join, rejoin, upgrade), targeted appeals, and major gift solicitation;

• Provides professional assistance to constituents and the general public regarding questions on membership, purchases, registrations, etc.;

Raisers Edge – Gift Entry and Membership:

• Daily - Raisers Edge revenue processing; membership, contributions, sponsorships, grants, pledges and payments through Raisers Edge and/or Raisers Edge Online Express;

• Daily – print membership acknowledgements;

• Daily – print non-membership gift acknowledgements;

• Weekly – follow-up with constituents who have expired/incorrect credit card information on file prior to automatic renewal;

• Annually – produce and print annual donor gift recap;

• As needed – print donor pledge balance letters;

• As needed – provides queries and reports to management for trend analysis, development campaign progress, membership retention, etc.;

• As needed - review and update constituent records (address, email, phone number, spouse, etc) in Raisers

Edge, MailChimp and MyTSHA;

Raisers Edge – Special Projects:

• Review gift acknowledgement letters for revision;

• Integrate the Raisers Edge credit card updater module;

• Learn Raisers Edge Online Express Membership and Donation Form setup;

• Provide expert advice on beneficial enhancements to the Raisers Edge database and functionality;

• Produce a “practice manual” of position practices and duties;

Financial Edge – Accounting Support:

• Daily – make bank deposits via Remote Desktop Deposit;

Other:

• Completes other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications:

Professional demeanor;

Experience providing excellent customer service;

Must be proficient in Raiser’s Edge database management;

Competency of Microsoft Office Suite of products;

Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills;

Ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously;

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Compensation:

• Salary will be commensurate with education and/or professional experience.

  • Salary Range - $45,000-$55,000

Work Hours:

This is a full time, exempt position; hours are between 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (unless preapproved by supervisor), with some weekend duty and travel during special Association events.
