Accounting - Gift Entry
Options
Under minimal supervision, responsible for managing the charitable contributions database and performing duties directly related to the management and general business operations of Foundation Department.
Staff Accountant - Full Time / Exempt
1. Manage accounting and acknowledgment of all charitable gifts including executing the gift detail report on an as needed basis.
2. Manage and maintain Honor/Memorial program, encompassing donor acknowledgment and notification letters.
3. Blackbaud Merchant management. Manage charitable gifts received by credit card.
4. Responsible for the management and administration of Raisers Edge including daily (deceased; address changes); weekly (moves; campaign period progress reports); monthly (comparing Foundation database with ACTS database) transactions.
5. Assist the Director of Accounting in preparing quarterly gift report to community administrators and regional executives.
6. Responsible for 990 and event cost reporting; activity, and event reports for receipting
7. Coordinate pledge installment program including reminders and follow up.
8. Responsible for year-end donor letters related to the charitable gifts received during the year.
9. Assists with special projects as needed.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience: The critical skills and knowledge required to successfully perform the functions of the position are normally obtained through:
College degree in accounting, finance or related field. Two to Five years of experience with Fundraising and Raisers Edge a plus.
Additional Skills:
· Communication and Interpersonal (must be able to work well in a team-oriented environment
· Exceptional customer service, quick evaluation and decision making
· Can operate all office equipment (including telephone, computer, copier)
· Strong attention to detail and data input accuracy
· Strong decision making and problem solving skills
· Excellent written, verbal and grammatical skills within the English language
· Excellent computer software knowledge (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AOD, Millennium)
· Must be able to meet deadlines as required
· Work efficiently with minimal supervision
· Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
· Experience in Raisers Edge
· Report writing/query experience required
