Marshall B. Ketchum University is seeking a Development and Database Assistant. Located in Fullerton, CA, Marshall B. Ketchum University is an independent, private, non-profit, accredited educational institution. MBKU is home to the Southern California College of Optometry, the School of Physician Assistant Studies and College of Pharmacy. Named after the founder of the optometric institution in 1904, the change to the University structure addresses the growing demand for highly skilled health care professionals.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Vice President for University Advancement, the Development and Database Assistant is responsible for providing skilled support to the fundraising team with an emphasis on gift administration & data management, gift entry, gift receipting, report management, database queries, database updates and online/web based gift presence. The Development & Database Assistant will also be responsible for processing donor communications by email and mail and serve as the liaison to mail house personnel for large mailings. This individual will also provide day to day support for the Vice President for University Advancement and other members of the University Advancement team for day-to-day development and alumni projects, fundraising programs and events and other office functions . It is a fast-paced position that requires proficiency with Raiser’s Edge (or a similar donor/alumni database program), Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as a keen eye to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Education and/or Experience

Qualified candidates should have experience using Raisers Edge or similar donor and alumni database; knowledge and experience working in a donor relations or alumni relations environment; intermediate or higher level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and a valid California Driver's license and reliable means of transportation. Experience with Raisers Edge NXT and Raisers Edge database reporting and completion of Raisers Edge training is preferred.
