Director of Development - The POGIL Project

The POGIL Project is seeking applicants for a Director of Development to start no later than March 31, 2021 This full-time position (35 hours/week) will work closely with the leadership of The Project and be responsible for seeking out opportunities—corporate, private, or governmental—to support the activities of The POGIL Project. This will include researching, developing and assisting in writing grant proposals, cultivating relationships with funders and potential sponsors, and developing partnerships with organizations or individuals who may support The Project and its goals. Additionally, the successful candidate will help develop budgets for affiliated grants.  This person will coordinate The Project’s annual fundraising and publicity plans and initiatives, seek to increase the organization’s donor base, generate greater engagement from the Project’s community, and develop new ways to market The Project both locally and nationally.

Qualified candidates will possess outstanding writing and editing skills and an enthusiasm for creative/innovative communication strategies that utilize multiple paths (social media, digital media, direct mail etc.) Experience in fundraising and grant writing for non-profits is essential. Additionally, a proven track record of project management and the ability to handle multiple pressing deadlines is crucial.
