Position Details

 

Professional Staff   Associate Director of Database Management Full Time 12 Portland, ME Manage, organize, integrate, and maintain information going into and coming out of the University of New England’s database of nearly 70,000 records in support of all constituent fundraising and engagement activities. Provide introductory and ongoing training for new and existing staff members on how to effectively use the Raiser’s Edge database. Manage the gift entry and receipting process. Serve as a liaison to collect and share data across the university. • Maintains database integrity with on-going clean-up projects, checks for proper usage, data accuracy and consistency. • Trains new and existing staff members on the Raiser’s Edge database. • Develops ongoing training opportunities for the Raiser’s Edge “super users”. • Create, update and distribute the Raiser’s Edge training manuals, segmented by job responsibility for the various users. • Assist with the development of detailed Raiser’s Edge policies and procedures, and enforce and maintain them, as needed. • Perform a variety of queries, reports, exports, imports, global adds, changes and deletions to maintain optimal Raiser’s Edge functionality as it relates to the goals of the Institutional Advancement office. • Complete a wide range of lists throughout the year for various mailings and events. • Performs imports of alumni, parents and other imports in the Raiser’s Edge as necessary. • Maintain relationship between the Raiser’s Edge and UNE Connect through weekly imports, as well as larger imports after each graduation period (May, August, • Manage database integrity with on-going clean-up projects, checks for proper usage, data accuracy and consistency. • Train new and existing staff members on the Raiser’s Edge database including ongoing training opportunities for the Raiser’s Edge “super users”; assist with the development and enforcement of detailed Raiser’s Edge policies and procedures. • Perform a variety of queries, reports, exports, imports, global adds, changes and deletions to maintain optimal Raiser’s Edge functionality and integrity • Manage data integrity between the Raiser’s Edge and other University data tools such as Banner and iModules. • Manage gift entry, receipting, and reporting process, including the development of additional acknowledgement and tribute letters as necessary • Serve as a liaison between IA and other offices on campus in regards to collecting, sharing, and managing alumni and student data through internal and external sources • Generate a wide range of mailing lists, custom reports, dashboards and exports as needed. • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, communicating with Blackbaud or IT to develop solutions when necessary • Manage additional special projects as assigned. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, 3-5 years related experience with computers and database management. • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge fundraising software and Microsoft Office. • Experience with Crystal Reports preferred. • Experience with Banner preferred. • Administrative experience in higher education or non-profit environment. • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. • Ability to deal effectively with database users at all levels within the Institutional Advancement office, as well as a variety of users in other University departments. • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills. • Strong work ethic. • Good communications skills • Flexibility, ability to multi-task and juggle priorities. • Familiarity with Development profession, especially report writing, prospect management and alumni records.
