Event Sponsor Pledges, Fees/Payments

Is it possible to put in an Event sponsor pledge (for an Organization) and immediately register the 8 guests (at a table, example) without having payment?


And I'm wondering if I'm registering someone, working to Add a Participant and Add Fees/Payments, if this has a gift transaction associated with it?  When a pledge payment comes later and gift processing puts that in later, will that double-count what is in the system from what was added for the Add Fees/Payments?
