PowerBI Connector Problems

Went through the tutorial to create the PowerBI connector at https://github.com/blackbaud/powerbi-connector
Everything worked except the connection. When I connect to the database I get an error as if the database is encountering a NULL value.
Is anyone else experience this or have any idea what could be the problem?
