The Roeper School is a co-educational independent school serving gifted students in grades Pre-K through twelve.  We’re looking for a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our Admissions Department on the Bloomfield Hills campus.  We are seeking an engaging, collaborative and highly organized person who has demonstrated successful experience supporting a school administrator. 

In this position, you will have the opportunity to use your administrative skills in admissions and enrollment management to become part of a passionate and vibrant community dedicated to educating students and contributing to their holistic growth in an intellectually engaging environment.  The Administrative Assistant contributes to providing opportunities for student and school growth by providing administrative support to the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management and the Admissions Department.  The responsibilities include overseeing the enrollment management system, providing data and report analytics used for decision-making and processing enrollment contracts.  The assistant is the first point of contact for prospective and enrolled families and responsively communicates, assists in event preparation and completes day-to-day administrative and clerical tasks related to Admissions and Enrollment Management.  The position is full-time year round.

Position Description:
  • Oversees the Enrollment Management System (EMS) for the admissions department by entering data into system to initiate the flow of admissions and enrollment process
  • Work collaboratively with the admissions department to efficiently gather, review and use data to assist in decision making related to marketing strategies
  • Maintain and analyze enrollment reports, retention reports, and marketing data
  • Create reports on the enrollment process and make recommendations on how to expand and optimize outreach
  • Enter data, review and analyze enrollment related information on prospective students 
  • Utilize EMS to process/handle contracts submitted by new and returning families
  • Provide periodic and timely updates of daily enrollment numbers
  • Send contracts to accepted students and extend annual re-enrollment contracts to returning students
  • Maintain and edit media materials including written and online copy and publications
  • Organize and run both virtual and onsite open houses
  • Prepare materials for open houses, transition nights, admission observations, and other school events
  • Respond to online inquires, write acceptance letters and student placement summaries
  • Maintain and organize department files
  • Participate in crisis team meetings and database management meetings
  • Construct the written summary of prospective students in the admissions process
  • Respond to and assist individuals who contact the school for admissions inquiries
  • Performs front desk receptionist duties including answering phones, greeting and announcing visitors
  • Sort, distribute and post mail.  Oversee maintenance of mail postage machine

  • High level of interpersonal skills, poise, tact and diplomacy to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Strong attention to detail in establishing priorities, meeting timelines and efficiently accomplishing duties
  • Effectively able to analyze data and apply knowledge learned 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including composing and proofing media materials 
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Enrollment Management Systems, database management, Microsoft Office, website management and social media platforms
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one to three years of experience. Preference for candidates with related school admissions experience.
