Get Relationship List (All constituents) equivalent Microsoft Connector
Options
Hello!
Really happy so far with the Power Platform connector.
I am getting requests to automate things in Microsoft Flow based on constituent's relationships. I would need something similar to the Get Relationship List (All constituents) that is available in the Sky API.
I didn't see anything in the Microsoft connector documentation that looked like it could serve this purpose, does something exist?
If it doesn't exist is the something that you are planning to implement in the future? Any very rough estimate as to when this would happen?
Thanks

Hi Andrew,
The lack of response may unfortunately imply that this feature is not on the road map.
Out of curiosity, can you say more about what you want to do with the Get Relationship List (All constituents) data? Maybe there would be some other way of accomplishing your goals.

Hi Andrew (and sorry for the delayed response),
We don't currently expose an action in the connector that returns all relationships, but we do expose an action for returning the relationships for a single constituent. Iin general, we like waiting on feedback to help us know what to implement, so this could certainly be something we add to our roadmap.
I'm also interested in how you'd envision using this in a flow - can you provide more details about the flow you'd like to build, what would trigger it, what filter parameters would you provide, what other steps would have in the flow. Any details you could provide would help as we prioritize things on our end.
Looking forward to hearing more details, and thanks for the feedback!0 -
Hi Ben Lambert
Like Andrew I am trying to get a list of cons relationships so I can update the spouse relationship to be the head of household, after marking the current HOH deceased. Not having any luck achieving this and wonder what I am missing, but now I wonder if this is possible given the conversations on the topic. Have there been any updates to getting a list of cons relationships? If this is possible with what is in the connector options now could you provide me a way to do this?
So far my connector searches a csv file produced from another database when it is dropped into a SharePoint folder, it then scans our RE by First Last and Partial address. If it finds a match is sends the info to me for approval, when I approve the record is then marked deceased, add a deceased note, and then I want to mark the surviving spouse as HOH, that is where I am stuck. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Christine,
The connector has an action named List constituent relationships that will list the relationships for a given constituent (this action in the connector uses the underlying ListConstituentRelationshipsSingleConstituentendpoint in the Constituent SKY API :
It's also worth mentioning that the Get a constituent connector action returns the spouse information for the specified constituent (this may be useful as it would prevent you from needing to iterate through the constituent's relationships looking for the spouse relationship).
Let me know if this helps your specific flow (which btw sounds very useful, and I'd be interested to know more about the flow if you'd be willing to share more details!)

Thanks Ben Lambert for the quick response! I am using the List Cons Relationship, and then update cons relationship, and I am getting the attached error. The only identifier for this relationship would be spouse = yes. The checkbox for Is Spouse. How does it identify which relationship you are trying to update using the update cons relationship? We also have Assigned Solicitor, Education etc.
I would like to connect on this if you like. Please feel free to email me to connect cprete@dioceseoftrenton.org or 609-403-7218.
UPDATE AS OF 06/06/21: I was able to make the spouse HOH, but there are still several road blocks I am hitting for this flow, and would still like to connect. Next is updating the addressee/salutation of the surviving spouse ?
Thanks!!!0 -
Hi Christine Prete, I'm just going to jump in here because your flow as shown below could be changing your data in ways that you don't anticipate.
You are using the "List constituent relationships" action to return all of the relationships for a specific constituent. Then you are looping through all of those relationships and setting them all to the "Spouse" type. If this flow ran successfully on a constituent with 15 different relationships, it would set all 15 relationships to "Spouse."
Your update says that you got this working, so maybe you have changed your flow since posting this, but I just wanted to give you a heads up.
The solution to this problem would either be to use a Filter Array action to filter your relationships before you make the update (you'd want to filter for relationships where is_spouse is equal to True), or to use the Get constituent action like Ben Lambert mentioned, and grab the spouse's ID from there.

Thanks Ben Regier. This person only had one relationship so glad that you gave the details above. Will try as you instructed on test records with multiple relationships. LMK your thoughts on updating addressee/salutations with out of the box automate functions. I am a “Citizen Developer” with no coding experience. I did not see a way to update add/Sal with the options provided.

For anyone following, Christine and I are working through this via email - I'll post some updates to this thread once get the solution worked out.0
