Entrust is seeking a like-minded servant to fill our Director of Human Resources position in Colorado Springs. This position plays an important role in advancing Entrust’s mission by overseeing the personnel needs of staff both within the United States and overseas. As HR Director, you would facilitate the selection, acceptance of and support for new staff, guide the team preparing them for the field, and oversee the development of the Human Resources department.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. Compensation is based on raising support with a significant portion already provided through Entrust’s general fund.

Summary: This position plays a vital role in advancing Entrust’s mission to multiply leaders for multiplying churches and involves the following primary areas of responsibility: facilitate applications and acceptance for new personnel, provide guidance and support for new appointees and current staff, review and recommend updates to the Entrust Handbook, personnel policies and procedures, and manage staff benefits.
Commitment: Full-time preferred
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Compensation: 75% is paid salary, 25% needs to be support raised. Benefits include paid health insurance, sick, holiday and vacation time.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Facilitates acceptance and onboarding of new personnel by overseeing the application and onboarding process, including completion of required paperwork and final hiring decision.
- Serves as a member of the Mobilization Team; coordinates with the Mobilization Team and hiring managers regarding potential new recruits, assisting hiring managers with procedures and interviews.
- Develops and posts position descriptions and advertisements (in coordination with the communications team, hiring manager/supervisor and COO) for open positions as new personnel needs arise.
- Keeps applicants informed of progress in the application process.
- Works with supervisors to coordinate vision trips and team interviews.
- Provides guidance and support for new staff, including support development, establishment of a ministry and email account, assisting the hiring manager in providing good communication, accountability and encouragement during the initial support development and/or training period.
- Coordinates and implements New Staff Orientation for in-person and online/overseas versions.
- Assures New Staff Shepherds are preparing field staff to transition to the field.
- Assists as needed with country visa applications and renewals.
- Gives final approval to new staff for deployment to their field of service.
- Maintains current personnel records, including monitoring vacation and home ministry assignments
- Researching, selecting, and administrating health insurance and benefit programs.
- Provides guidance and support for staff transferring or seconded to Entrust from other organizations and reviews/renews secondment agreements.
- Shepherds staff through position or regional transitions as needed.
- Oversees and maintains records for the Ministry Accountability Plan (MAP) process; works with team supervisors to ensure all staff and project managers complete the annual MAP and bi-annual MAP reports.
- Serves on the Pastoral Care Team.
- On an ongoing basis, develops the Human Resources Department, annual reviews and any necessary revision of policies and procedures, with approval by the COO.
- Maintains the Entrust Handbook, reviews and recommends updates to the Entrust Handbook and personnel polices to the COO.
- Oversees risk management for the organization, related to staff and personnel policies.
- Attends All-Staff Conferences and all U.S.-based staff retreats/conferences, including raising support for travel expenses.
- Entrust’s staffing needs will be fulfilled with qualified, ministry-oriented and kingdom-minded people.
- New staff will be adequately prepared for deployment into Entrust ministry and possibly new cultural environments.
- Personnel files will be kept in compliance with U.S. federal and state government requirements.
- Entrust will benefit from a well-managed and effective Human Resources Department.
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum 3-years experience in Human Resources, preferably in non-profit organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required.
- Short- or long-term cross-cultural ministry experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate diplomatically and excellently, both verbally and in writing.
- Technical writing ability.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of personal data and personnel matters.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to learn additional computer applications or databases as needed.
- Willingness to pursue ongoing professional development and maintain a current knowledge of HR law and best practices.
