The University offers more than 30 undergraduate majors and minors, 14 master's programs and three doctoral programs through its College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Leadership, and the College of Professional Studies. Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Director of Advancement Services is responsible for directing all advancement services activities. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Supervising the data management and gift processing staff.
  • Identifying prospects.
  • Establishing strategies for cultivation and solicitation of prospects and current donors.
  • Preparing profiles and reports for prospects.
  • Tracking and managing prospect files.
  • Creating gift proposals and agreements.
  • Maintaining and updating fundraising/campaign reporting. 
  • Fulfilling other duties as assigned within the Division of Institutional Advancement.
Essential Functions:
  1. Works as part of an integrated management team to establish overall goals and strategies for increasing private support to the University.
  2. Manages the Advancement Services staff, which requires a comprehensive understanding of gift processing and acknowledgements, prospect management, biographical maintenance and other data maintenance activities.
  3. Responsible for University reporting related to creating and maintaining spreadsheets and other documents that are reported by the President and Vice President for Institutional Advancement to internal constituencies.
  4. Provides professional support for implementing financial processes, special events, prospect management, donor recognition and donor stewardship.
  5. Organizes and implements prospect identification management strategies and maintains the prospect pipeline.
  6. Identifies, researches and tracks prospective donors in the individual, corporate, and foundation categories using print and electronic sources, in-house files and documents as well as conducts interviews with University personnel, Trustees, and other 'friends' of the University.
  7. Prepares prospect profiles and reports and distributes the information in a confidential manner to appropriate personnel.
  8. Responsible for the maintenance of all detailed software, license agreements and other information as is related to the integrity of the database.
  9. Ensure protocols are in place and maintains compliance with the OLLU Finance Office, government regulations and reporting standards for the IRS and the US News and World Report.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Knowledge of internet data sources for professional research and analysis.
  2. Ability to maintain prospect management/tracking system.
  3. Ability to analyze, synthesize, and effectively communicate recommendations.
  4. Outstanding communication skills.
  5. Ability to work well under deadline and prioritize projects.
  6. Excellent analytical skills.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  8. Familiar with Raiser's Edge fundraising software.
  9. Commitment as an Exempt employee to working some weekends and evenings.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  1. At least three years of experience in research and fundraising, preferably in higher education.
  2. Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
