Position Purpose |
Responsible for creating, managing, researching, analyzing, and maintaining constituent and gift data to serve as a foundation for fundraising and alumni relations initiatives across Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health and Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Provides operations support to the Advancement department using a proactive/collaborative approach, technical expertise, automated tools and web-based applications and outstanding customer service. Analyzes and processes transactional requests within the department via a variety of methods and manages special projects. Required Qualifications |
• Four plus years of experience with complex administrative information management systems. • Excellent research and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret business data and information. • Demonstrated expertise in desktop and web-based applications. • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, advanced analytical tools and databases. • Excellent problem solving and resolution skills. • Able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure of time constraints. • Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage special projects. • Projects a professional image and applies proper telephone and email etiquette. • Demonstrates accountability for work accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to understand policies and to apply procedures. • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to be flexible and cooperative in a team-based environment. • Commitment to excellence and to serving the needs of a diverse community. • Sensitivity and respect for confidential information. • Technical literacy with computer applications, financial or other database management systems. • Experience involving extensive contact with customers identifying, researching, analyzing, and resolving complex issues. • Experience working in a team/collaborative environment. Data Management: 70% • Creates, builds, and manages data to support fundraising and alumni relations initiatives. Develops expertise in using specific web-based applications and other technology tools to manage and maintain individual, corporation, foundation, and other organization data including researching and recording transactions, extracting and reviewing data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of Advancement data. • Works on special projects and other tasks related to constituent and gift data management. • Develops expertise on how data and systems are being utilized for reporting and decision-making. Maintains a high level of understanding of data practices, data quality, and data quality measurement and testing. Improves data integrity and quality by conducting routine and ad hoc quality control analysis. Participates in cleanup and other special projects. Ensures the security and sensitive handling of confidential information and maintains information based on policies and procedures. Data Systems: 20% • Assists in identification and use of new products, methodologies, online databases, and software that will further enhance the department’s ability to advance its mission using the most up-to-date and advanced methods. Participates in testing upgrades or changes to data systems, makes recommendations for workflow and automation. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities within systems and processes to increase consistency and efficiencies. • Extracts and communicates key information to customers and educates development staff and others involved in fundraising activities about current policies and procedures; Trains and mentors other team members to ensure skills and knowledge are consistent across the department. Attends professional development offerings to maintain and increase proficiency in various systems or process changes. Administrative Support: 10% • Provides operational support to Advancement department.
