Under the direction of the Director of Operations and Communications, the Prospect Development Specialist will assist in the ongoing development of a strong donor prospect pipeline as well as the maintenance and growth of Foundation’s  annual fund operations. Utilizing data, technology, and creativity, this position will assist the entire Foundation team in donor acquisition and retention by effectively and efficiently soliciting new and current donors and preparing for major and planned giving growth.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in data management and prospect research (utilizing Raiser’s Edge/NXT and other tools) to identify and qualify prospects for annual fund acquisition, major gifts and President’s Circle membership, our premier donor society.
 
  1. Analyze, segment and prepare large amounts of data to assist in the production of regularly scheduled acquisition/grateful patient mailings and campaigns.
 
  1. Coordinate President’s Circle renewal letters, pledge reminders, and large year-end and spring mailing campaigns.
 
  1. Assist front-line fundraisers and Director of Operations and Communications in donor strategy and Moves Management; specifically focused on retention, upgrades, and major and planned gifts.
 
  1. Develop mailing lists for newsletters, e-blasts and special mailings.

  1. The organizational skills necessary to independently manage the development and implementation of multiple programs and assignments in a detailed, accurate and timely manner.

  1. The written and analytical skills necessary to create, research, and write materials to effectively educate, motivate, solicit and acknowledge donors as well as convey information to coworkers and other staff.

Experience
  1. The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree preferably in an area that incorporates analytics and/or information management.
 
  1. Minimum of three years of non-for-profit experience specifically in areas of data or project management.
 
  1. Knowledge of and experience with CRM systems (preferably Raiser’s Edge/NXT) and Microsoft Office required, report writing and data modeling experience a plus.
 
  1. Valid Illinois driver’s license and willingness to use personal automobile for work.
