For more than 43 years, Washington Legal Foundation (WLF) has served as the nation’s premier public-interest law firm and policy center. WLF’s mission is to protect and preserve America’s free-enterprise system by litigating, publishing and advocating for a limited and accountable government, individual and business civil liberties, and the rule of law.


We are looking for a principled and creative person to lead our fundraising and donor-relations team. The specific responsibilities for this full-time position include but are not limited to the following:
  • cultivate relationships with WLF’s existing donors and perform outreach on behalf of the CEO and other members of WLF’s team;
  • research potential new donors across different industries and draft proposals targeted at the specific interests and concerns of those industries and businesses within them;
  • identify new opportunities for support from private foundations and individuals and prepare grant proposals for both general operating support and special projects;
  • manage donor and prospect databases through Raiser’s Edge;
  • work with marketing and communications team to develop marketing strategies for WLF press releases, publications, and other materials.
A Bachelor’s degree, three (3) years of experience working in development, strong knowledge of fundraising strategies, skilled use of Raiser’s Edge. Experience using research sources for collecting information for individuals, law firms, and other organizations.
