Position Summary:
This position serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the office of Fund Development. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Day to day job duties include responsibility for the overall “back-office” functions of the development office as well involvement in prospect research, development writing and event management. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Database Management:
  • Serves as the primary contact for fundraising data.
  • Creates customized lists and reports from database on selected donor and prospect constituencies.
  • Establishes and maintains coding procedures that facilitate the grouping and identification of all prospects and donors.
  • Maintains and continuously updates database records on prospects and donors.
  • Serves as resource to new and existing staff and volunteers in use of database software.
  • Conducts appropriate research on donors and prospects and incorporates such information into the donor database.
Gift Recording and Acknowledgment:
  • Ensures that all gifts are entered into the database in a timely fashion, and that gifts are acknowledged within prescribed response standards.
  • Ensures proper audit controls and financial records are maintained.
  • Handles donor inquiries and correspondence related to gift processing and procurement (e.g. stock transfers, pledge reminders, donor listings, memorial gift notification etc.).
Administrative Duties:
  • Welcomes and receives phones calls and individuals as the initial point of contact for the Office of Fund Development for both internal and external constituents.
  • Maintains office efficiencies including recording and monitoring expenses, supplies, and procedures; organizing and accurately maintaining a filing system; and managing office equipment or properties of the office.
Government & Foundation Relations:
  • Assist the Director of Development and the Grant Program Coordinator in the research and preparation of foundation and government grant proposals as needed.
Donor Relations:
  • Assist with stewardship activities to ensure regular contact with donors including the development of the annual report, acknowledgement letter writing and individualized donor pieces.
Events Management:
  • Assist with all Office of Fund Development related events with specific increased involvement in stewardship and satellite fundraising events.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Ability to maintain complex records and files and manipulate donor database to produce lists, mailings label and merged letters.
  • Organization, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Must be able to work diligently and accurately, especially during critical periods of high volume during fiscal year end (June-July) and calendar year end (December-January) to meet prescribed daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Emotional maturity.
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
  • Experience with Blackbaud software programs including Raiser’s Edge, Research Point and/or Financial Edge preferred.
  • Qualified applicants must also possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently in order to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
