Raiser's Edge Integration Discovery Participants Requested

Hello Raiser's Edge Community!

I am in the early stages of assessing future goals and options for Raiser’s Edge integrations with other (non-Blackbaud) office productivity applications. There are some obvious tools and use cases that we have enabled integrations for in the past, but in the interest of not making too many assumptions I wanted to reach out to the community to see what applications you all are using outside of Raiser’s Edge to better engage with donors, organize activities, and generally fulfill your organization’s mission. I’d like to get a feel for not only what existing integration use cases are important to you today, but perhaps get some ideas for how we can make your lives easier by implementing, updating, or generally strengthening our integration with other common tools and applications.

Feel free to share examples of specific integrations that you depend on and love today as a reply to this topic. If instead (or in addition), you would be willing to speak with me on the topic, I’ve pasted a link below to a list of available meeting times. During these 30 minute sessions, I would love for you to share (or even demo through a screen share) what integrations you use, what minor changes to existing integrations you think might help, and what integrations you have dreamed up that might be a good feature to consider for RE7 or RE NXT.

  • We use Campus Call from Ruffalo Cody Noel Levitz and would love to have it integrate better with RE and BBMS, so that we didn't have to use another payment provider and to bring in the demographic/gift information more easily.
  • We use:

  • Jarod,

Since you did ask about changes to existing integrations, I'd like to address the growing gulf between Raiser's Edge and Patron's Edge. THe integration used to work and has grown progressively worse since TopTix took over support for PE:. I know there may be nuance here that is beyond your control, but this is severely inconveniencing us. Backups are not working as they should, and the integrity between the two systems is so hit-or-miss that often, members visit the Museum and PE: still hold old data, incorrectly informing our Admissions clerks that people need to renew when they do not. We've had to let go of PE: altogether, obtain new licenses for RE: so that Admissions can use that for membership verification, and will be forced to migrate to a new system next year.

Have you looked at BB's Altru?  If you have General Admission situations, this is likely the solution for you.  I'm awaiting a revamped PE for small orgs (TopTix is way too big/expensive for the small symphony I volunteer with) so if/when that arrives (with Ticketed Seating options) that might be a solution if GA isn't what you need.

We're in the process of surveying users of our various systems organization-wide to assess their needs, but Altru is the current frontrunner in the eyes of IT and myself. I do have to admit, it would be nice to have a single solution that covers all of the bases it does, and though it will be painful, this is a step forward and something to celebrate in many senses. Still, we probably would not be going ahead with a conversion so soon if we were not being forced into it by circumstance.

  • Our organization uses:

    - Wufoo forms

    - MailChimp

    - Quickbooks
  • We use multiple apps (with some for use in the near future):

    Wufoo

    MailChimp

    Google

    Facebook

    Twitter

    Evernote

    Any.do

    Trello

    Slack

We are hosted and the lack of being able to integrate with RE for these is extremely inefficient. The fact that we can't use any other apps that allow a connection with our RE CMS (our main bread and butter) really makes no sense. Having to export/import is so time consuming. Anything that is available in the hosted environment that allows some sort of integration is very pricey on top of the price we already pay for the database. I really wish BB would make more apps/integrations available to the hosted environment to allow users to focus more on raising money rather than entering data multiple times.

    Thank you.
