  • I'm assuming you mean a scan of your Principal's signature?

Currently, it's not possible to insert pictures into the Thank You messages, but this is definitely something that you should add to the OLX Idea Bank. Blackbaud's team keeps an eye on it for what things people are looking for and when enough of us chime in, they really do listen. I think this is functionality a lot of people would want.
  • Hi Daniel,

Yeah I meant a scan of our Principal's signature we feel it would personlise the email a bit more.

ill add my suggestion to the idea bank for blackbaud to pick up on.

Thanks very much for your response.

  • Edward's Idea Bank suggestion is here.

  • Eddie- You can't add images to those emails, which continues to be my #1 problem with OLX. Why wouldnt I be able to add my logo for goodness sake?!

However- if that email signature is somewhere else online, you can copy and paste the image into the email. So put the jpg on a random webpage for a couple minutes, copy and paste into your email, then remove the image from the web. Silly, but the only way we have found as a work around.
  • Hi - maybe you've figured this out - i've done it successfully. You have to find your picture (or signature) online somewhere and copy it (I pulled the signature from another place on our website). In your email in OLX - Control V - to insert the picture/signature. I have our logo as well as CEO signature. Good luck!

  • Further comment on my previous post - I assumed you were referring to the donation form generated auto response thank you for a donation email vs. the email marketing generated email. Control V doesn't work to insert a signature/photo in the email marketing - those must be uploaded.
  • Thanks for all the people who have gotten back to me.  You are right it does work if you copy and paste from a website into the automated Thank You.  Now i have our Principals signature on our thank you.  Hopefully blackbaud create an easier way for people to do this though.

  • I would like to add our principal's signature to the acknowledgement email also. The signature is now on a webpage, but I can't seem to paste the copy. I only get the actual link address. Any suggestions? What am I missing?

Just to clarify, once you have it on a webpage you have to do the following.
    1. Right click on the image and you should get an option like "Copy image address" (Chrome).
[In Internet Explorer it's a bit more complicated you have to choose "Properties" from the right-click menu and then copy the "Address" from the box that comes up.]

    2. Paste this address into the Address bar at the top of your browser (URL box)

    3. This should take you to a page that is literally just the image in the top left corner.

    4. Now right click on this image and choose copy.

    5. Now paste this into the email using Ctrl+V

Was it that the above wasn't clear, or that you tried all these steps and it still failed?

  • Hi Matt,

Thanks for the tips, they are definitely clear. But, I am still not able to make it work. When I use ctrl+v, the actual address not the image pastes into my acknowledgement email. We would prefer not to leave Dr. Fincher's signature on a webpage. Are there any other options? Also, we are hosted so I'm wondering if that makes a difference.

    Best,

    Christy
  • Hello,

I eventually managed to do this.  At first we didnt have a signature for our principal online so i added it to our webpage then managed to right click/copy image and then control V in the email, but our web team didnt like his signature being available online so it got taken off then the signature on the thank you email disappeared too.  But i did wee search on the internet for our principals signature and found it on google browser images.  I was then able to right click/copy image then do control V in the area i wanted to insert it in my thank you and it worked :).  By the way i found it easier to use google chrome browser for the copy/paste, i used internet explorer to begin with but it made the image fill the whole email and i wasnt able to reduce it.

Hope this helps and please let me know how you get on.

Oh that's a shame. Which browser are you using out of interest?

  • The browser could definitely be an issue. We are an Apple school and use Safari.

I'd be interested to hear if you ever try this on another browser and it works.

Meanwhile, there is an existing proposal in the ideas bank here:

I'd suggest that it's worth all of us voting on it (after all, even if we can work around it, it would still be nice to be able to do it more easily).

  • I see that this is an old thread, but I'm new to OLX and have just run into this issue. The copy/paste trick isn't working for me (I've tried a few browsers with no luck).

This kind of limitation is pretty sad in 2019. No way to add a logo or signature? In a platform built for fundraising?

Why aren't the OLX features in email marketing usable here? It's an email being sent via OLX, isn't it?

I voted on the ideas suggestions for this, but this was raised in 2016, so I'm guessing I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for change.

Does anyone know what the threshold for votes is before something changes? This just seems like such an easy win for OLX to make this fix...
  • Hi Alec,

I think - for whatever reason - that they have put a stop to being able to do it. At least when I tried to do it a while back I found I could no longer use the method outlined. It may be because we have switched from being self hosted to being hosted by BB.

But yes, I don't really know why they have taken this away. As you say it wasn't communicated and it seems a pretty basic thing to be able to have something there if we choose.

  • Does anyone have any information about using a RAISED signature for these thank you letters, etc?

    Thanks,

    Emma
