Entering Memorials in Batch

Options
A very very popular community member has died and I am receiving tons of Tribute donations.  Is there a way in batch to only enter the memorial information once and then just add the gifts?  I've been entering each donor and then clicking on Tribute and Looking up the deceased's name, etc.  Just thought their might be a faster way.  Thanks.

  • Hi Jean! I am sorry to hear that.

There is a way to default honor memorial information for your batch. The options for setting up defaults can be found in Tools > Edit Batch Setup. On the Default tab, you'll want to highlight Honor Memorial and then enter in the appropriate Tribute information there.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks,

  • I thought you could add it in the default value, but according to the Tribute guide

    Tip

To save time entering a gift, on the Honor/Memorial tab of a tribute record, select a fund in the

Default Fund  field. When you add a gift from a donor in Batch , first click  Tribute  on the toolbar. On the New Tribute screen in the Honor/Memorial  field, select the name of the tribute and save the information. The fund defaults automatically from the tribute record to the Fund  column in the batch row.

  • Again, many thanks.  I'm coming here more often.  You guys are great!
  • I don't think there is a way to automate this but to remove some pain, give your H/M recipient a unique alias such a "zz", then the search will be much quicker. (be sure that in your seach screen, "Search on Alias" is turned on).
