Question about Disbursement Schedule

Hi, 

I am not sure where to ask this question since the BBMS community is not up in running.   But I received the e-mail that my disbursement report is ready, so I went to retreive it and it lists the Disbursement Date of 1/1/16, but the 2016 disbursement calendar says Deposit Date of 1/8/16, so this means that the money will not hit the bank, physically until the 8th, correct?     In the past, I always just used the date on the disbursement report for my accounting department.   The previous calendars never gave me a date of deposit before.    I am assuming, now going forward, I will use the actualy deposit date for accounting (in this case the 8th).

    I think this can depend on your bank.  For us, the bank will show the deposit pending on the disbursement date and available usually by the next day.  I have seen it sit in pending a little longer at times, but that was unusual.


    I've kind of always assumed it was similar to direct deposit -- my bank will show funds available on the 10th, but my co-worker's bank is a little faster and hers will be available on the 9th.  Technically our payday is the 10th, but her bank makes the funds available earlier.
