I am looking for a solution to set up Google Tag Manager (GTM) to trigger on the "Donate" event, so I can monitor it in as a Goal in Google Analytics. Does anyone have a setup that works for them?



I have installed the GTM script on all of my NetCommunity pages as it's own part. I just don't know how to have it interact with the eCommerce data.

    Given that the Donation Form part uses multiple views on the same page (donation form view, confirmation screen view), it is necessary to write custom Javascript to note when a succesful donation has taken place, and then trigger an Event within Google Tag Manager (or Google Analytics). This Javsacript can capture pre-determined variables such as the dollar amount, the URL of the page in which the donation took place, category, etc. This event can then be used to setup an eCommerce or normal conversion goal.

    Hi Robin,



    In order to monitor the Goal in Google Analytics we can add the tracking code in an unformatted text part on the donation page. We will need to be sure to add this to the <body> tag. We will need to be sure to have site tracking enabled under administration sites and settings as well as configure E-Commerce in Google Analytics. We can use goals in Google Analytics to track conversions on your site.
