I would like to know what your policies are in regards to how you handle original checks after scanning them for RDC? Shred or hold for a specific length of time??

    It is typical to retain those checks in a secure location for up to 60 days.  This allows the checks to go through the bank clearing process and time for your business office to reconcile the bank account.  This way you have the original if needed.



    After such time the checks should be shredded and disposed of.
