Editing Fund Designations on OLX Donation Forms

Hello Blackbaud Community:

Currently transitioning from NetSolutions to Online Express, and am trying to set up funds into the newly integrated online donation form.  The appeal for one of our events is set up to designate donations to external organizations which are currently listed as packages in the RE appeal record.  Since these external organizations are not saved as funds, what would be the best method to link the recipients (designated parties) to receive gifts made through the online donation form.

Is there a way to list packages as selections that website users can donate to? or Would I have to create new funds for these beneficiaries to make them available for designation?

    I think your best option would be to set up your packages as a Gift Attribute dropdown, which you can then place on your OLX donation page.  When you download transactions, they will have a Gift Attribute on them, which you can then move to the Appeal/Package fields in the Batch or after committing the gifts using Global Change (or do it manually, depending on the volume).



    Assuming you have various reports and such set up, adding Funds might make more of a mess.  Although, I suppose you could add the Funds, but then adjust the data in Batch before committing the gifts (move it to Appeal/Package and change the Fund to whatever it really should be in your database).  If you have other Fund options and want to keep them all together, this would probably make more sense.  In RE, those Fund records would just not have any gifts attached to them.

    Hi Jennifer,

    Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, I do agree creating another fund would cause complications when pulling reports and running queries.  The list of packages for this particular appeal is quite extensive.  Will definitely have to weigh out some options to produce the simplest, most user-friendly form.
