Pulling queries into OLX

Options
Our organization has several people designated to pull queries and lists. From the marketing and communications side, I work with these data techs to receive the query or list I need for email or direct mail communications.

With the recent addition of OLX, we are preparing to send our first emails through that tool.

One of our data techs ran the queries for me for an upcoming email campaign. On one list, she had 127 recipients. The other had 32.

When I tried to pull her email query directly into OLX for the email campaign, it dropped the number of recipients down to 90 for the first list (originally 127), and the second increased to 33 (originally 33). We have exported her lists to see if there were issues with the original emails she supplied me (looked for duplicates) and only found about 7. We can't find any other issues within the data to explain where the other emails are going. If I export the list (to use in another email tool), I'm clearly getting 120 emails without those duplicates. But OLX is somehow cutting 30 others.

Is this something anyone else has seen? Any ideas on how we are missing so many emails through OLX?

Thank you!

  • Online Express flags emails that have previously asked to be unsubscribed. It automatically removes them from the mailing lists
  • While Stephanie is correct, if this is your first ever OLX message, OLX wouldn't know about any unsubscribes yet.

If you are on 7.94, are any of those emails marked Inactive?  Regardless of your version, are any of the emails marked Do Not Contact or constituents marked Requests No Email?  If you have more than one email Phone Type, are they appropriately set up in OLX?  Are all of the email addresses valid (i.e. they have an "@" symbol and a valid domain name and extension)?  (We had many that were typed in as .cmo or .omc or gmall or # instead of @...even one that was johnagmail.com instead of john@gmail.com.)

Since you're only talking ~160 records, I would go ahead and send your first message, then push the data from OLX to RE and go back to your queries to look at which emails from your queries do not have an Appeal tag on them, indicating that the message was sent to that email address.  At that point, you can investigate those specific email addresses & constituent records and see if you can determine what the problem is.  If you still can't resolve the discrepancy, post again here or hop on BB OLX Chat Support.
